Does not recognize my WD hard drive

Hello,
I have a WD2500BMVS external Hard drive with a USB port but windows will not read it. I could read it on my old laptop but not my new one.

Dear Sir,

Please unplug the CD ROM drive and plug the external drive

instead. This should solve the problem.
