Copy & paste filtered columns

Hello,

Since changinging to windows 07 I can't work out how I can copy & paste in a filtered column without losing the formating of individual cells eg various colours or borders on descending rows. If I drag the cell down i copy the data to filtered cells only, however i lose the format. if i copy and paste special ...values or formula etc, it maintains the formats but copies to unfiltered cells. it seems like I'm snookered either way. Is there a solution to both copy to filtered cells only while maintaining the individual cell format.
