Deleting or removing an old windows program

Hello,
I have heard that you can delete an old windows program if you have installed a new one, to gain back your computer's memory, at least part of it. I have deleted most of the programs and all of the recycle bin, but still have only 4% of my D drive memory. Is there anything I can do with my HP f50 desktop to get some memory back?

hi there,

you must format the drive

and not reinstall windows over existing one

make disk cleanup

open my computer>

right click on the drive

and press on disk cleanup
