PS3 w/ Cricket (or other) usb stick modemClosed

Hello,
Ive googled this and keep finding the same thing over and over but the simplist answer and question i have yet to find.

so my question is/...?

Can i just (plain and simple) plug the usb stick modem into my ps3 ??? will it work???

I do not have a laptop or desktop to use a ethernet cable .....

No it needs its software to run on a PC/Mac.

No, Ive tried it, and it does nothing. even if you try to set it up in the settings menu on the ps3. :( and it says in the manual that the ps3 does not support dial up internet connection.
