Gateway laptop wont power on, no lights.....

Hello,
My gateway laptop powered off about a month ago. Its not even a yr old. I just purchased another one yesterday and the not working one at the shop. The person said it may not be fixable lol. Im going past there today a try your solutions and see if it works. The shop said it could be virus....or the motherboard and sum other junk. If your solution works then he should go out of business.
