Laptop wont switch on but power light is on.

Hello,
i have Compaq laptop and it wont switch on but the light on the power button is on. Its been turning itself off for quite awile now but ive never had trouble of starting ti back up again. ive heard that Compaq and HP laptops eventually go like this? is this true? ive only had it a year. Please help

Hi there,

Remove the battery and plug your adapter,press on power,after having logged in shut it down and reseat battery and make same process.
