Cannot start computer

Hello,
there is error msg when i press any button on the monitor which says my computer is in power safe mode. press any key or move mouse. but nothing happened. ie cannot boot up . My computer is Dell desktop

Dear Abel,

Please remove both 15 pin monitor cable and the power supply cable

and let all the static electricity gets discharged and then get them

plugged again in order to have the trouble fixed up.

Hi Ash

I did as you say but didnt work. what else can I do? Monitor is still black and I cant get windows started. if i press any button in monitor the error msg says my computer is in power safe mode but it isnt. I called dell and they say may be hardware problem. But I hope that is not the case
