Don't you know you should install the sound driver now, to be more precise the realtek driver !
Hi there,
As mentioned that you recently reinstalled operating system,you need to install also motherboard drivers including all hardware attached to it to have better performance and result.
Use your driver cd and get them installed or if lost or damaged driver cd,you can download it from the web,for that you will have to provide the model and series of your computer.
