My iPod won't turn on !!!

okaaay, so i was listening to my iPod nano 3g, and it made this weiiird sound and then the screen went blank. because this isn't the first time this has happened, i didn't panic. i figured... "hmm, i'll charge it. that usually works" so i plugged it in, but the screen was still black. whatever. i left my ipod alone for 3 days, but the screen is STiLL black. i really don't know what to do anymore. i have 1075 songs but not all of them are saved to my computer and i really don't want a new one. i can't live without music. and gr.. maybe this has to do with accidentally washing my ipod a few years back. haha. D: pooooo.
