Hello,

I have a Gateway laptop with Vista and have hit something causing the numers on the letter keys to show up when I'm trying to type the letters. The letters affected are U I O P J K L M. I can't get the letters to type just the numbers and symbols shown at the bottom right corner of each letter key.

You set the NumLock switch on. Look for the key on the top row marked NumLck. Then press it together with the Fn (Function) key. that should turn NumLock off.
