My computer won't turn on properly

Hello,
Hopefully someone can help me here. I recently dropped my computer on the floor and as a result it began making this weird crackling sound. Due to the horrible sound it was making, I turned the computer off. I then turned the computer back on and the fan started spinning like it was going to power up, but instead 2 lights in the left hand corner started blinking and continued blinking for 50 seconds. Then it just turned off. I'm using a Dell D820. Thanks for any suggestions.

Return it to Dell for service - But, it will be cheaper to buy a new laptop. Sorry for the bad news

What exactly do the flashing lights mean, that it's completely dead except for the power?
