Lap Top Won't Boot

Hello,
My HP Pavilion dv5 -1138nr Entertainment Notebook PC doesn't boot. When I press the power button the strip of lights next to it all flash for a second but then nothing comes on. Any ides or suggestions? Please help. \ The battery is definetly not the problem. I have checked it in another lap top. Thanks.

Hi there,

Remove the battery and press power button to drain all current in it,then wait for few minutes and reseat battery and press power in button and start system.
