Hello,

I was installing a virus/spyware program and something happened during the install. A box came up telling me that an update would not install while, behind the box it looked like everything was going great. So I x'd out of the box and suddenly everything came to a halt. Then an error message came up and told me that the computer was shutting down to restart. It rebotted, opened up and immediately the error box came up and shut down the computer again.

I've turned the computer off manually, then turned it back on and the same thing happens. It just keeps starting, begins to open then the error message re-appears and starts shutting down to restart and repeating the action.

What I'm asking is this:

Isn't there a way, when the computer is initializing, to get into it and then reset the date to a day when everything was working fine? It seems I was given some info like this a LONG time ago, and I cannot find my notes on it.

You can boot from the Windows CD and do a "REPAIR" .
