Prb with sound

Hello,
i have a very unique problem in pc with sound.when i start the system sound is coming normally but when i play any music or video or game files the sound is interrupting and suddenly goes off and no sound is coming. real player showing the message that windows cannot play file .it might be used by other application. and also the some times my system is restarted. pls help me wht i hav do??????????????
