My Acer 3500 wont switch on

Yeah the 'upside down' method, doesn't work for me.. I have a Acer Aspire 3500 series, battery dead, like doesnt work at all, so it has to remain on AC power, and this has just started to happen.. Turning it upside down etc doesnt work , nor does it putting it in the fridge FTW ? Any more suggestions on what to do ?
