About 6 years ago, I bought 2 old mesh pc's but recently the motherboard on one failed. I took the hard drive out and have switched it into the other box.

Despite having the other hard drive available I am having trouble with drivers, espcially as when I plug in to the USB ports, it tells me it would be quicker if I switched to a USB 2 port.

Both pc's were previously usb 2, both were operating XP-sp3, so I don't understand why they have gone back to usb 1.

Help appreciated

Jesper

Hi there,

Please provide more information on the issue concerning usb 1 and 2.

Thanks

Thanks for your interest and sorry for delay (been away over easter!)

When I plug in anything to the usb ports, it says it would run quicker if connected to a usb 2 port. And in device driver the ports say they are usb hub 1 even though there is an enhanced usb controler and all 6 ports operated as usb 2 before I put in the new hard drive in and updated all the drivers. Even though I have tried to go back to the original drivers I haver not overcome the problem.

Motherboard P4s533mx asustek

Is that the info you wanted?

Cheers
Jesper
