Linksys router

I have a linksys router that I use to pick up the internet on my laptop and my dad's laptop. I've seen how to go in and change the settings and want to go in and change the name which appears, when my router is pluged in. If I do this will this be ok or will I end up causing problems for myself when I try to connect using either of the two laptops? I don't want to do it, if it is going to cause problems.

There shouldn't be any problems as long as you make sure to keep the SSID Broadcast box checked so YOU can see it as an available network or you can choose to "un-check" that box and setup the laptops manually.
