Oh yes they CAN work without usr name or password, if you have cable broadband or DSL then the system is set up to connect to your modems Mac address via the cable same thing with DSL, Sounds like the settings within the router are changed, do you need these to get into the router Config GUI or too get on the internet as well. Sounds like you may need to resetup the router, because you can use a router on a home network and not even have an internet connection.
