How to use 2 monitors

Hello...I have a HP laptop with an ATI graphics card that supports 2 monitors. My question is...as i am currently using my laptop with a 2nd monitor plugged through VGA and my TV as a 2nd monitor using HD lead (only one at a time obviously) does anyone know if I disabled my laptop display could i constantly use both secondary displays all the time?

You should be able to go under your display settings and be able to control which one is monitor 1 and which monitor 2 is. Then you could do stuff on both screens separately. And the display of the laptop should shut down to.
