How to sync ipod into another persons itune

I recently got a ipod from someone else i have itunes already but want the songs from the new ipod into my itune so i can lisin to the music on my computer but every time i try sync it a window pops up saying all the music from the ipod will b deleted if i sync it. what do i do or can i do anything at all
