The labtop shot down and it won't start

My friend went on Msn, to look at the New York news. She wanted to see the video of the car that was used in the recent time squire bomb attempt. When she tried to run the video, the computer shot down and it wont start. Does anyone have any idea what it is, or how to fix this problem. I think she has an intel computer.... Please help... I don't want to buy her another labtop...LOL
