Hello,

I had to reinstall windows xp yesterday, and now I have no sound on my computer. I tried using Winamp, and windows media player, but I keep getting no driver detected errors. I have a C-Media CMI8738 audio chip, and I received an error message when I downloaded and tried to install the drivers from the company site. I've checked several different sites, and under the Control panel options, it shows no audio devices detected. Please help!

Have you been to control panel> device manager? there you can scan for harware changes. If you find you audio componet there, you can use the update driver function.
