Sound stop working on hp laptop

Hello,

the sound on my hp dv6000 series, was working fine, until i tripped and yanked the headphones out the headphone jack>>all the sound on my laptop stop working>>and its not on muted>>and i tried putting the headphones in the jack and pulling it out but it didnt work>>can someone help me plz

Try this:

Go to start>run

Type in 'services.msc'

Scroll down to Windows Audio and see if the service is started. If it isn't started, start the service, then reboot your system
