My ipod nano wont turn on

Hello, i recently bought a new ipod and have plugged it into my compter to add some songs, when i unplug it, it doesnt come on. i have tried reseting it but the screen just stays blank, it switches on when i connect it to the computer though. Does anybody know whats wrong with it?
