Connect laptop to internet

Hello,

How do I simply connect my laptop to the internet using this "Linksys- Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter with SpeedBooster"?! My parents are connected to the internet with their desktop computer. I know nothing about computers and I lost the CD to the wireless adapter. What are my options?

Please provide laptop model to give you a download link else browse laptop manufacturer website and download the driver.
