G4 disc drive whirring but not loading

Hello,

I'm trying to load office for Mac on my G4 running OS10.4.11 (which should work)
but when I insert the disk it makes a whirring sound, seems to speed up (the sound), and then pops the disc out.
I have had not had trouble using the disc drive before,
but now every disc I use seems to have the same problem.

Any advice?

i think that the problem is coming mostly from your dvd rom and just try to get another one
