My ipod shuffle wont work

hi i have an ipod shuffle and my head phones wouldn't go in all the way i had to tie it with a rubber band and finally one day i went to turn it on and it wouldn't work so i plugged it in it's dock and it wont work or charge. i need help.thank you.

Dear Sir,

Please consider letting it charged for enough time and see whether the problem is not coming from its charger or battery.
