Ipod shuffle 2nd generation recognition problem

Looking in some old boxes i found an old iPod shuffle 2nd generation, when i pluged it into my MacBook CATALINA, it doesn’t get recognized neither in music nor in the finder , i tried another laptop, the same thing , i bought a cable , nothing , i uploaded an ipod assistant, nothing , the ipod still play old songs , can be charged , it’s been two months that i look for support , i don’t want to give up on it . Please help
