Compaq laptop

Hello,

I have a compaq presario v2000 laptop,it was plugged in and charging and on, and it sudddenly just shut off and now will not turn back on. I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but i will mention that i mistakenly tried to put my printer in the parallel port and right at that time it shut off. Can someone please tell me what is wrong and how to fix it?

First try removing the battery and power supply press and hold the start button for 20secs or so reconnect the power and see if this cures it. Does anything light up at all?
You could have blown something on the motherboard if so you need to take it to a reputable repairer who can run a test on your motherboard.
