Touchpad can't open icons and menus

Hello,
Can anyone help please?
My touch-pad mouse wont open any icon or menu. It points to the icons and selects them but can't open any, right-click, left-click nor double-click.
It is HP DV6-1250us with windows 7

Daer Sir,

Please check whetehr this trouble is not sourcing from the fact that there is a virus or trojan on your system.
