Pc only boots after i clear cmos

Hello,

I have a dell dimesion desktop, with pentium 3.2ghz, 2 gb ram running XP sp3.
Since yesterday, it wont boot up from the power on button, but if i clear the cmos, it will autoboot. it will restart ok once booted, but if i shutdown, i have to clear cmos again before it will start. However, after i insert the power cable, all the lights come on for just a second then it dies. I have tried playing with the RAM but to no avail. Is there anyone who knows of a similiar prob ?

This a neither Windows problem nor a CMOS Battery Problem. It is problem with Motherboard BIOS. You get your bios upgraded or Check Motherboard for any shorted near CMOS Battery and Jumper.

Hi,

I got a laptop which is mecer z140c which my friend gave to unlock the password. When switched on, it doesn't give option to go to bios neither I can reinstall windows 10, tried booting from USB. just says enter password screen when switched on, any suggestion to remove it will be appreciated.

four beeps pause 4 beep

Hello,
Dear friend I am getting four beeps pause four beeps vice versa up to five times. At the same time there is nothing on the screen, keyboard and mouse. After the 5 times beeping LED display (power display) turned into red and no sound. Please help me....

No display in monitor

Hello,

No image appears on my monitor. Computer starts up, power supply fan works. CPU fan also works fine. Attached side panel fan is also working. Drive sounds as if working. Boot sounds to start working (no 'beep' though). But no image. Monitor says, it's working fine, check connection. Well, Connection is fine. Can't check BIOS if I can't get an image. Is there anyone out there who can help?

After start up only wallpaper shows, no icons

Hello,

Upon start up only my wallpaper shows. There are no icons, no task bar, no start menu, nothing, just a blank screen other than my wallpaper. When I right click just to get into the desktop, I select display and even that gets no response. Can someone please help me.

Hellos,
My other computer is starting then shutting down within two to three seconds after starting and shows no signs of even having time to try and boot.

Any ideas what's going on?
