Laptop Speakers problem

Hello,

am having a problem with my ibm a31 laptop, the right speakers plays and not the left one i have installed the correct drivers and still nothing, but when i insert a headphones half way the both speakers work fine. What can be the cause of the problem how can i fix it?.

Go to control panel > sounds and audio devices to check the balance level.
or it may be that the RCA socket is damaged, get it repaired.

thanks for your quick response your information was right to the point it is the RCA socket that is the problem, but i have to play with it to make it work on both speakers i will live with that for now . Thanks again.
