I Winodws, A pendrive can be formatted in two ways:
1> Right click on the pendrive's drive letter shown in My Computer, and click on Format.
TIP: Deselect quick format for a through format.
2> Just note the drive letter which is shown on the My Computer. Open command prompt from
start->all programs->accesories->command prompt
and then type:
format <drive letter>: /FS:FAT32
eg. If the pendrive is mapped on to G: my the system,
format G: /FS:FAT32

Connect the device to system,right click on it in my computer and select format,if using limited user you will not be able to do it ,you can also use hp disk formatting tool if need a software as mentioned,have it downloaded below:
