compaq laptop to lg 47 inch hdtvClosed

Hello, 
My compaq laptop has a hdmi out socket and the tv has hdmi input , but when i connect the two with hdmi lead nothing happens .  Please advise how i can get it to work.



Configuration: Windows 2000 / Internet Explorer 6.0
