Keyboard and mouse failure

Hello,

I was working on my laptop where suddenly my mouse and keyboard stop moving.I restarted many times but this didn't work .I went to a hard disk scan but nothing found (no viruses).In addition i checked my mouse and keyboard drivers they are not affected .i plugged an external mouse and keyboard but windows can't read it.I'm confused ....can anyone help.this problem can be related to the mother board ?!
