Can someone help me?

I have an Elements external harddrive and for some reason my laptop if not picking it up, i have never had this problem before and i really dont want to loose all of my things on it. Does anyone know how i can get this to show on my computer again so i wont loose my saved data??

I am facing the same problem as my USb has not been detected by my laptop :(
