Unable to complete format hard disk

Hello, my hard disk can't be formated. When i want to format my hard disk, it's say window was unable to complete format hard disk. I don't know what to do now.

Hi there,

How are you proceeding for the format?Are you formatting by cd for windows installation or its a secondary hard drive which yiu are formatting from windows itself?please give more information,
