Hello, Ambucias

I just installed the Vista updates on my laptop and then it installed then then it shut down but later on i turned it on again i got this word saying....

228/228 Registry blah blah then it did the stage 1 out of 3 installation's on it but then later about 5 to 8 minutes it came up with this blue screen and it said at the top that a hardware or something was moved but i just opened my CD drive to put a CD in to it then it said this has shut down to protect your computer so it didn't damage it.

was done to it but i might think it was due to my misses that had it near the heater and on her lap which it may never got any cool air to it. and the screen was a bit hot too.

but do you think i should do a system restore then or you want to help me to find out what the problem was.

Thanks, Gervarod

Good Ol' Gervarod,

If you had your laptop on your girlfriend's lap, yes it just may overheat.

But now if you both cooled down and the laptop works okay, I would not worry about it.

Next time, should you get a blue screen of death, to help you, I require the 0x00000000 code that will show on the screen.

Take it easy and don't do anything I would not do.

Regards

Excellent question!

10 seconds! That is way enough time, and you should have some left over. Remember, the eye is quicker than the hand.

Try to reproduce the blue screen by putting the laptop on her lap as girlfriends normally produce heat.

Personally, every time the blue screen appeared, I tried to read a little part at a time and noting it. Help from spectator friend is great.

Anyhow, to make it easier for you, I will give you part of the code, it starts with 0x000, etc. There are only 10 digits and perhaps one or two letters. Now that I gave you the beginning, you only need to read the 5 digits left and ignore what else it says on the screen the code will suffice.

Good luck Speedy Gonzales
