Format my external hard disc

Hello,





I have a 500GB WD My Passport Elite (external hard disc)

it was perfect until one day I plugged it in my laptop & it asked me to format my hard disc 0_0"

I CANT DO THAT OF COURSE!!!!!

some people told me I should format & then restore (not in this life!!!!!)
some people said you have to open the hard disc's case & it will be fine (since Iam going to return this thing from where I bought it & I have to keep it in good shape to do so I cant open the case -_-")
some people said stuff I couldn't understand (Iam good at computers but not THAT good !!!!)

HELP ME!!!!!!!!! I WILL DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!! MY ENTIRE LIFE IS IN THERE!!!!!!!
