Hello,
i have an issue connecting my PS3 to my router. I recently moved to the USA from Canada. When i connect my US laptop to the router my internet works no problem. but when i connect my canadian laptop or PS3, i cannot get an internet connection. During the connection test on my PS3, it fails at the obtain IP address stage.
Is there a diffference between the Canadian and US IP addresses (as i thought these were universal), and is there a simple option that i would need to select in order to have the internet work?

Hello Rod,
Yes there is a difference. You must get a US IP for your Canadian laptop.
Click on on start then on run
Type cmd
Then type ipconfig/release, enter
Type ipconfig/flushdns, enter
Type ipconfig/renew
Good luck

If you have set up DHCP setting on router, you can configure your Canada laptop to obtain IP address automatically, then it will be assigned correct IP and other network settings by router.
If you need more clues, can use this ping tool to troubleshoot this problem.
