Can't access data and show not formatted hdd

Hello,
i have 640gb external transcend storejet hdd....few days ago when i want to copy from laptop to hdd it shows message cyclic redundancy check error.then i safely remove then plug in again.then i open a folder then it show message your disk is not formatted.then i open the properties it show my current used space (379GB),but when i check the folders properties and sum the size it just 2GB++..where is the rest of my file..if possible i dont want to format,because i have many important data in that hdd...thx for ur help

Hello,
Right-click on your drive --> properties --> Let me know the File System. Is it RAW ?.

no...in disk management it says the format is fat32 and the status is healthy...

Hello,
Try this 1.
Right click on that drive-->properties--> Click on "Tools" tab ---> Click on "Check Now" button and select those two options---> click on "Start".

cannot complete the checkdisk...when in the middle it show box windows cannot complete checkdisk
