Hard drive!

Hello,

i have an hp dv5 laptop...which fell and isnt working now!....when i switch it on it just goes till the hp sign an then itz blank!...black screen occurs and thatz all!!....the hard drive light does lit! so whtz the prob then?..i mean has the hard drive failed or is there sum screen prob?...or it must sth with the motherboard??.....advice plz!

Hi,

It may be the hard drive which is failing to boot with the shock when it fell down.Open the cover at back removing the hard disk and battery then fix it properly as it was with all screws and give your feedback what happens.
