Internet on my laptop

Hello,
I want temporary internet on my laptop with a Ethernet cable witch i have on my desktop until i get wireless internet. Do I just connect the Ethernet cable to me laptop or is there something I have to do first or after I connect it?

Just Plug it in - everything should work OK
