Hello, My elements Usb 3.5 hdd is not always being recognised by vista lap top.
Shows up in my computer with the letter F assigned to it but when i click on the drive it shows no files empty in other words, I have noticed the red light comes on as soon as it connects and then stays on, it shows in disk management as letter F, shows file system as Raw not NTFS. I can feel the disk spinning in the case, any idea what may be happening.
It is showing the device connected at bottom of screen, Help please.

hello
this sounds like a booting failure in the disk and possibly unrecoverable, although MOST software problems can be recovered. If you don't need anything from it, format it and try then. If you had data on it that you needed to recover, find a storage device that has enough space to back up what ever you want, and download MiniTool Power Data Recovery from this link, and select Lost Partition Recovery. Good luck.
