Initially I could not load either browser.
After running a virus scan, I can get Chrome to open. Firefox works always.

I'd like to reset the IE settings to default, but since I can't open it, that's not available.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

(If a moderator is going to remove my post for 'politeness' reasons, I've searched your entire site and can't figure any reason that this post would be a problem. If you are going to give me the boot, please tell me what the objection is so that I can correct it! please)

Hello,

Try this 1.

Reset your "Internet Explorer" settings.

Right-click on "Internet Explorer" icon --> Properties --> Click on "Advanced" tab

--> Click on "Reset" button.

Good Luck

Greetings to my friend Jack4rall and to you Etbrown,

If I may ask, what version of IE do you have?

Hi again,

Out of respect, this thread belongs to my genius friend jack4all who will return on line, I imagine, within 10 hours, time zone obliges and he will solve your issue, nothing (almost) ever resisted him.

In the meantime,

1. I suggest that you upgrade to IE8. Should you not then get any response from IE 8, delete it completely using this uninstaller:

http://ccm.net/download/download-9468-revo-uninstaller-portable

2. Clean your registry using this free but efficient registry cleaner:

https://ccm.net/download/download-13339-eusing-free-registry-cleaner

3. Redownload and install IE8

Jack4all will be there to help you after your feedback.

Good luck

Greetings and Salutations,

I started out on the Virus forum and was switched to the Internet forum.

Interesting thing there was that in reading the virus forum on this topic and dozens of posts, nowhere did I see anyone suggest updating from IE7 to 8. Seems simple though.

Well after running the virus scan, and then upgrading to IE8, I can now access both Chrome and IE. Likely that both actions were required. The virus scan freed up Chrome, and the new version freed up IE. Bingo.

Many thanks!!

Greetings EtBrown,

I was the one who asked for the switch from virus to Internet forum. (I do have connections in high places!):)))

I don't remember suggesting a virus scan but other tools and upgrading to IE8.

The important is that you are content and that this is a story with a happy ending.

Thank you for your feedback

Best regards
