Greetings

During the 15 beeps, is there a very short pause after 3 beeps, like a fraction of a second making it a sequence of five 3 beeps for a total of 15 before the longer pause?

it's not 15 beeps, it is a 15 second long continuous beep with a 10 second pause

Hello Qwertos,

A single long beep indicates a memory problem.

I suggest that you return into your machine's belly and test your ram, one stick at a time. Also, examine each stick for oxydation. If you can borrow a good working stick to test, that also would be a good idea, just in case all of your sticks are damaged.

I would like to hear from you after your test.

tried that, removed both sticks and tried them one by one.. nothing... i got a working stick from a friend and will test it later...

Okay, let me know. Please insure that the stick you try is compatible ie DDR, DDR2 or DDR3 and let's hope it's not a graphic card problem. If you can, borrow and test a graphic card.

You just don't remove the graphic card, you must test with another. Without a top shape graphic card, you will never get a signal.

Since the ram testing did not show anything and that you have absolutely nothing on the screen, there are 2 possible sources to the problem:

1. Your graphic card is fried
2. You motherboard is toasted

Since we can't hear the Windows' jingle, it's most likely your motherboard for which only a qualitfied in the flesh technician can look into it.

If that happened to me, I would scream!

the fan on the graphic card runs so i think it could be the motherboard...

Hello Qwertos,

Unfortunately, I afraid it is a defective motherboard. Sorry about that, I wish I could help further.

If you take it to the repair shop, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Best regards
