Merge drives in windows xp without format

Hello,

I have Windows XP installed in my "C" drive whereas the "D" is empty I want to increase the space of drive "C" the current space of C drive is 10 GB where the space of D drive is also 10 GB kindly advice me:

How I can increase the space of drive "C" without formating and without loosing any of my program/software?
