Windows xp cannot connect to internet
Closed
Hello, I am running windows xp sp3. My friend accidentally downloaded a fake malware protection program called "Best Malware Protection". I still had an internet connection and downloaded Norton Power Eraser. I used the program and deleted the Malware and 5 other programs that I didn't recognize. After this process, I could connect to my internet, but not browse the internet. The internet diagnostic says that my firewall is to blame, but my firewall is turned off and I have excepted the FTP, HTTPS, and HTP ports. I have tried multiple fixes, but nothing works. Please help!

Sounds like you didn't get all the drivers.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type devmgmt.msc
Please respond to all the following steps.
1. Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed.
2. Are there any devices under Network adapters that have a red x displayed?
3. Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?
