New disk not detected
Solved/Closed
Hi there,
I'm using a Dell Precision 490, 32 bit Win 7. I've recently attempted to take what was originally an external SATA hard drive, remove it from its housing and place it in my PC (as I have a free hard drive slot).
Upon doing so (and checking that the power and SATA cables were seated properly) my computer has been unable to detect it at all. I have tried viewing the Storage section of Computer Management to no avail.
The disk worked fine externally showing no problems whatsoever. Any and all help is appreciated, thanks.
EDIT: Solved. Need to enable to drive in the BIOS.
