Toshiba laptop shutdown during windows update

Hello,

I shut down my wifes toshiba laptop while it was updating, now only get the windows logo with a blue background...won't take the recovery disk...nothing happens when i put it it. Please help, my wife is going to kill me!

Greetings,

Try this:

When you switch on your computer, start tapping the "F8" key to get

"Windows Advanced Options"( if boot menu appears, press "Esc" key and keep

tapping the F8 key)

Select "Safe Mode"

Once connected, try to do a system recovery to a date before the problem occurs.
